Commanding Officer USCGC HALIBUT (WPB 87340)

Lieutenant Mark J. Guenteft assumed command of USCGC HALIBUT (WPB 87340) in June of 2019. Prior to HALIBUT, LT Guentert served as Operations Officer and Navigator aboard USCGC WRANGELL (WPB 1332), one of six forward deployed U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats supporting Operation Inherent Resolve as part ofDestroyer Squadron 50 and Task Force 55 for the U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet. 

Prior to his tour on WRANGELL, LT Guenterl served as a Deck Watch Officer, Assistant Navigator and Living Marine Resources Boarding Officer aboard USCGC MELLON (WHEC 717) homeporled in Seattle, Washington. LT Guentert earned his commission and degree in Management from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2016. 

For his next assignment, LT Guentert will serve as the Junior Afloat I Assignrnent Officer at the USCG Personnel Service Center in Washington,
D.C. 

LT Guentert is a native of Lilburn, Georgia where his parcnts. James and Linda reside.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Jillian H. Bray is reporling to USCGC HALIBUT (WPB 87340) frorn USCGC ADAK (WPB 1333). Aboard ADAK, Lieutenant Junior Cradc Bray served as the Executive Officer, responsible for maintenance, training, equipment, and overall readiness of I of 8 forward deployed Patrol Boats working for U.S Naval Forces Central Command Fifth Fleet in the Arabian Gulf. 

Prior to her tour on ADAK, Lieutenant Junior Grade Bray graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Government. After commissioning, she reported to USCGC TAMPA (WMEC 902) in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she trained as a Deck Watch Officer and served as the Assistant Navigator, the Electronic Materials Officer, and the Assistant Operations Officer. 

Lieutenant Junior Grade Bray is originally from Glastonbury, Connecticut, where her parents, Wendy and Joe Sr. reside. She has three siblings, Christina, Timothy. and Joe Jr.
